A Private Sitting in Mayfair

The Secret Winter Gala returned in style, as guests stepped into the pages of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. Save the Children’s annual star-studded event raised over £1 million, including match funding from the UK government, to save and transform the lives of children across the world.

The May Fair Hotel – Corrie Nielsen sketches

The Mayfair’s Fashion Artist Marc McGreevy was commissioned by Brand Us Social – a Fashion and Beauty conference held at The May Fair Hotel.

A very special collaboration took place between the Artist and Fashion Designer Corrie Nielsen in the Atrium of the luxury hotel.

Glowing with natural light, the Atrium provided the perfect backdrop for attendees who watched McGreevy as he sketched live. Over 300 people attended the event which was filmed by Google.

Model Pollie Sortain wore a stunning Corrie Nielsen SS14 suit picked out by Marc himself – below are the results from this extraordinary event.

Special thanks to Corrie Nielsen, Ali Mapletoft, Google Glass, Linzi Sortain, Pollie Sortain, Rupa Ganatra and Vanisha Solanki.

The Doorman by Marc McGreevy

During my first days as Artist in Residence for The May Fair Hotel, I couldn’t help but notice the beautiful clothes and hats the doormen wore.  I felt that they were unaware of their grace, elegance and impeccable manners which set them apart from any other hotel in London.

This Artwork is of Pete, The Doorman, who has all these astonishing qualities and an incredible style which drew me to him.

The May Fair Hotel – Artist in Residence

Situated in the heart of the Mayfair village, The May Fair Hotel has been a by-word for artistry and elegance since the twenties.  To celebrate its status as the official hotel partner for Art13 London; London’s most exciting new art fair (Olympia Grand Hall, 1-3 March 2013 http://www.artfairslondon.com), the luxury hotel appointed its very first Artist in Residence.

Marc McGreevy was in residence at The May Fair Hotel on 1-3 March 2013.  Guests had the opportunity to take their own exclusive art-work home with them – see some of the stunning results below.
